How to Upload a Blog Post on a WordPress Site

Follow these steps to create and publish a blog post directly from your WordPress dashboard.

Step 1: Start a New Post

1. Log in to your WordPress site.

2. From the homepage toolbar (top bar), hover over the “+ New” option.

3. Click “Post” from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Add Your Blog Title

1. In the title field at the top, enter the headline of your blog post.

2. Make it clear and descriptive so readers know what to expect.

Step 3: Write or Paste Your Content

1. In the large content editor area, type your article or paste your prepared text.

2. Use the block editor tools to:

   • Add headings for structure.

   • Insert images or videos using the “+” icon.

   • Add lists, quotes, or links where necessary.

Step 4: Organize Your Post

1. On the right-hand settings panel, select:

   • Categories to group your post under a topic.

   • Tags to add keywords related to your post.

2. If needed, set a Featured Image—this is the main image shown on your blog listing.

Step 5: Preview Your Post

1. Click “Preview” at the top right to see how your post will look on the site.

2. Check for formatting issues or typos.

Step 6: Publish Your Post

1. When ready, click “Publish” at the top right.

2. Confirm your choice by clicking “Publish” again in the popup.

3. Your blog post is now live on your website.
