Step 1: Log in to Your WordPress Dashboard
- Open your web browser and log in to your WordPress admin area.
- Usually, you can access it by visiting
yourwebsite.com/wp-admin.
Step 2: Go to the Plugins Section
- From the WordPress dashboard, look at the menu on the left side.
- Click on Plugins > Add New.
Step 3: Search for WooCommerce
- In the search bar at the top right, type WooCommerce.
- The WooCommerce plugin will appear in the search results, usually as the first option.
Step 4: Install the Plugin
- Click the Install Now button next to the WooCommerce plugin.
- Wait a few moments for WordPress to download and install the plugin.
Step 5: Activate WooCommerce
- After installation, the Install Now button will change to Activate. Click on it.
- Once activated, WooCommerce will guide you through the initial setup process.
Step 6: Follow the Setup Wizard
WooCommerce comes with a setup wizard to help you configure your store:
- Store Details: Enter your store’s address, currency, and the type of products you’ll sell (physical, digital, or both).
- Payments: Choose the payment methods you want to offer, such as PayPal, Stripe, or direct bank transfer.
- Shipping Options: Set up shipping zones and rates.
- Recommended Features: WooCommerce may suggest some additional plugins, like automated taxes or marketing tools. Choose the ones you need.
- Complete Setup: Finish the setup, and your store will be ready to customize.
